For my DMD220: Principles of Interface Design course at UAT, students were called to write a brief discussion post about the UX/UI design resource, TTT Studio’s 7 UX/UI design trends to look out for in 2023 and discuss our takeaways and insights as a class.
My Insights from this Article:
The user experience of a site and app heavily influences a user’s first impression of a brand (Fusther, 2022). Therefore, it’s important to stay up-to-date with UX/UI design best practices and interface design trends, and at the same time offer something innovative to elevate your brand differentiation and enhance the overall user experience. To align your brand identity with your UI, you must also be mindful of how design elements like color theory, line, shape, space, value, and content formats relate to your target market.
Additionally, to ensure your site or app also conveys your brand’s value in an appealing way to achieve your goals, you also need to ensure your user experience is user friendly. If it’s not, it can create confusion and frustration causing a visitor to have negative associations with your brand and lead to a bad user experience. If you also don’t clearly lay out what you want your user to do within your UX/UI strategy, they won’t feel compelled to take action or buy your products or services.
To build a positive user experience, it’s important to sync your goals and what you want your user to do with attractive UX/UI design best practices and innovative trends that are relevant to your target market. This will more likely stimulate the user to engage with your site or app and leave with a positive user experience.
